Each woodfire piece is unique–the color of the final piece is influenced by the heat of the kiln and the ash from the wood that is created as it burns.
Rebecca Schedl, Dragontails teacher, has been making ceramics since she was a child. She rediscovered her love of clay while making work at community studios in West Philadelphia. Rebecca has participated in workshops in clay at Penland School of Craft, Anderson Ranch Arts Center, and in Jingdezhen, China. She woodfires her work through Black Hound Clay Studio in West Philadelphia.
